John Sullivan Retires

For the first Sunday in more than 26 years Dr. John Sullivan is not the Executive Director of the Florida Baptist Convention. This is a moment that brings heartache and tears. It is also a moment of great joy for Jon and Nancy Sullivan.

He has been a friend and a supporter. He has preached for us, encouraged us and challenged us. He has been kind enough to recommend us to serve in places across the SBC and then challenged us to accept the responsibility. He has helped our churches and provided financial support for our kids. He has prayed for us and walked with us through challenges. We are better because he has led us. We will miss him in the years ahead. I am grateful that there was "a man sent from God whose name was John."
