Dr. David C. Hall

Today, would have been Dr. David C. Hall's birthday. Dr. Hall was my father in law and my pastor for many years. During his pastoral ministry he accomplished more that we have time to recount. He had a quick mind and a wise temperament. He was above all else one of the finest preachers of his generation and led more than 250,000 to Christ in his churches and in revivals. Possibly, his finest investment was in the next generation of preachers. There are more than 100 preachers around our nation who testify that Dr. Hall was their pastor/mentor.

I am grateful for his investment in me and my ministry.

What Will I Do Today?

This may be one of the most important questions you will ever ask. What Will I Do Today?

First, I will do the best that I can do today. I will give this day my best effort. I will not make excuses or attempt to lay blame for my mistakes. I will give today my all. We do not have equal abilities, however, we have equal opportunity. Determine to make the very best of your opportunities today.

Second, I will use all that I have today. Some would encourage you to lay back. Others encourage you to recognize the need for the future. All that you have is today. Give it your very best effort with all of the resources necessary to accomplish your goal.

Third, I will measure my success not by winning or losing but by the effort I have given. Everybody comes to a day when things don't go well. Everyone will have a few in the loss column. Don't measure the day by the result but by the effort.

Forth, I will be thankful for another day. Ultimately, this is another day. I am grateful that God has given it to me. I will honor Him with my actions today.

This is the Day!

This is the day that the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it. What a marvelous statement of the Psalmist.

Let us consider, This is the Day:

This is the day in which we live. We cannot live in yesterday nor can we live in tomorrow. We must live today. This is the day in which we will do good or bad, make a difference or be indifferent and it all happens today.

This is the day which the Lord has made. This is God's day in your life. He has made it and has given it to you. What are you going to do with it? As you walk through the day do not forget that this day is God's gracious gift to you. Plan and purpose to do something good, something that will be a blessing and something that will impact eternity.

This is the day which the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it. Rejoice that God has given you another day to live for Him, to serve others and to share the Gospel with those that do not know Jesus. Rejoice that God loves you enough to have done this. Rejoice, He is our God and we are His children.

This is the day which the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it!
