Rejoicing in the Presence of the Angels

Luke 15:10 tells us:
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
That which often impresses us the most does not even garner the glance of those in heaven. Heaven does not rejoice when we raise the budget or fill the building. Heaven rejoices when sinners are saved.

Summer is here. In many churches attendance is down, income is down and consequently enthusiasm  is down.

At lunch following our morning service last Sunday I had the privilege of leading a very fine young man to receive Jesus as his personal Savior. The Bible says "...there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." This means that those in heaven rejoiced when this young man prayed to receive Jesus. God knew that not only did he need a Savior; I needed the joy of leading him to Jesus.

It occurs to me that we need to rearrange our priorities and make them more eternal than temporal. If you want a good prescription for the summer slump blues go and find someone to tell about Jesus. It will bring joy to your heart.

Attempting to Connect the Dots...
