Life Changes in a Moment
Last May, one of our fine Deacons, James Jentgens passed out at home. James was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed as having two brain aneurysms. Because one of the two aneurysms had ruptured, James was taken to emergency surgery where they repaired the ruptured aneurysm. For the past, roughly three, months James has been recovering from that surgery and has done very well. Tomorrow morning James will have a second major surgery to repair the second aneurysm.
James is not only one of our Deacons; his wife Dorothy serves as my Ministry Assistant. Because of this I have opportunity to observe the manner with which they have dealt with this significant change in their lives. It has been a privilege to see the faith and hope with which they have approached these past months and the imminent surgery. I encourage you to pray for these faithful servants of our Savior as they face surgery and recovery.
For James and Dorothy life took an unexpected change. Life can and often does change in a moment. Are you ready for the changes?
The way to prepare for change is to know Jesus Christ as your Savior. I remember the evening that James gave his heart and life to Jesus. I shall rejoice for eternity because of that moment. The way to deal with change is to faithfully serve Him once you come to know Him. James and Dorothy have remained faithful in their service for our Savior. Last night Dorothy took her turn in our extended session preschool care and James was in prayer meeting nad Bible Study. The way to deal with life's changes is to trust Him who is the unchanging God. Are you ready for the changes?
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Cor 1:3-4Attempting to Connect the Dots...
